Packed city day. Market at opening, work the bridges, a midday boat tour, then the funicular up to the castle — Tivoli (or the science centre if it rains) before a riverside dinner.

Four bronze dragons on the 1901 Art Nouveau bridge — a kid favorite. Two-minute walk to the padlock-covered modern footbridge.

Prešeren Square & Franciscan Church

The pink 1646 Baroque church anchoring the central plaza. Church open 8–12:30 and 1:30–8.

Škocjan Caves (pre-booked)

UNESCO karst cave system — one of Europe's largest underground chambers. 2.5–3 hrs, ~5 km, ~1,000 stairs. 12°C inside, bring layers. Early exit option at the Big Collapse Doline cuts it to ~3 km if anyone's flagging. No photography.

Drive to Soča Valley, check in

~2 hrs from Škocjan to Ladra. Add ~30% to Google Maps ETAs on rural roads.

Soča Family Rafting (Bovec)

Beginner-friendly Class 1–2 on the turquoise Soča, ~1.5 hrs on water. Confirm min age before booking — Soča Splash min 5; Aqua Tours min 2 (110 cm). Book ahead for June.

Slap Virje + Slap Boka viewpoint

Easy emerald plunge pool at Virje, then a 15-min flat walk to the Boka viewpoint. Skip the climb to Boka's base — steep and technical.

Nadiža river swim

Flat, clear, local feel — ~15 min south of Kobarid toward Italy. Perfect heat reset.

Start in the museum, then walk the loop that ties the whole Isonzo Front together — Charnel House, Tonocov Grad, Kozjak Waterfall, Napoleon Bridge. Late lunch in Kobarid.

Kobarid Historical Trail

5 km circular loop, 3–5 hrs with stops. Hits Italian Charnel House, Tonocov Grad, Kozjak Waterfall, WWI defenses, Napoleon Bridge — one tidy package.

Kozjak Waterfall (Slap Kozjak)

The cathedral-amphitheater payoff at the trail's end. €5 adult / €3 child. Parking €1.50/hr at the Napoleon Bridge lot.

Slovenia's highest pass — 1,611 m, 50 cobblestone switchbacks. Depart Kobarid 9–9:30 AM for a 4 PM Bled arrival. Drive slowly, use low gears on descents, bring layers for the summit.

Directly on route. 750 m carved section of the Soča. Park in Soča village and walk the Soča Trail in ~20 min. 60–90 min total.

Short ~15 min walk each way from parking. Quick high-reward stop.

The classic Bled viewpoint hike. Go up the steep Mala Osojnica side (metal stairs) and descend via Ojstrica. Best early morning before heat — sunrise is iconic but optional.

Lake Bohinj

Bigger, quieter, less polished than Bled. Free swimming beaches; walkable shore. ~30 min drive.

Vogel Cable Car

4-min gondola from 579 m up to 1,535 m. Triglav and Julian Alps panorama; café on top. ~€39 adult (verify child rate at vogel.si). Runs every 30 min, 8 AM–6 PM.

Savica Waterfall

One of Slovenia's tallest. 20–25 min uphill via 553 steps. ~€4 adult. 10 min from Vogel valley station — easy if energy holds.

Easy walk Bike option

Walk (or rent e-bikes) the flat 7 km valley trail to the waterfall. Stop at the Eagle's Nest treehouse café next to the falls. Rest or farm visit in the PM.

Logarska Pot (Valley Trail)

Flat 7 km signed ethnographic path from the entrance to Slap Rinka. Free to walk; e-bike rentals €30 at the valley entrance — go as far as you want and turn back. €10/car valley entry at the tollbooth.

Slap Rinka (Rinka Waterfall)

90-meter falls at the head of the valley. Easy 10-min uphill walk from the upper parking. Bathrooms + snack stand at the lot. Plan ~30–45 min with kids.

Orlovo Gnezdo (Eagle's Nest)

Treehouse café right next to the falls. Easy snack stop with kids.

Rest or farm visit

Hotel Plesnik restaurant for a nicer dinner (Slovenia "green gastronomy" certified), or a casual farm meal.

A high alpine plateau with 140 traditional shepherd huts — accessed by a cable car + chairlift (confirmed running). Medieval Kamnik below as the overnight before the flight.
